Milford Haven coastguard received a Mayday message from a yacht and immediately paged the lifeboat crew to assist. The crew arrived at station after pulling themselves out of bed in the early hours of the morning. A yacht that was leaving the harbour had suffered a sudden engine failure in the harbour mouth, and had radioed to the coastguard for assistance informing them it was a mayday situation. The lifeboat launched and was immediatly on scene, a tow line was passed and the boat was towed back into the harbour. A quick look at the engine discovered the problem to be dirty fuel or an air lock in the fuel line. The problem was soon sorted and the yacht decided to leave the harbour again under the guidance of the lifeboat. Aberystwyth lifeboat escorted the Yacht out the harbour and over the bar to make it sure it was ok. The boat then returned to station.
